HISTORICAL CASES

CASE 01

Geophysical Prospecting and Mapping for Identification of Groundwater in Semi-arid Region

Challenge: In an area that is difficult to access and has a shortage of water resources, the company was hired to prospect for groundwater sources in a semi-arid region. The objective was to identify possible reserves of drinking water for local supply.

Solution: We use advanced VLF (Very Low Frequency) and electrical resistivity techniques to map underground geological structures and locate potential aquifers. Through GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) and seismic surveys, we can identify water points with high reliability.

Result: Geophysical analysis required only a small number of drillings to confirm the presence of abundant groundwater sources, ensuring a sustainable supply for the local community. The project contributed to improving the quality of life of the population and helped to preserve water resources.

CASE 02

Environmental Licensing for Mineral Extraction in a Protected Area

Challenge: A mining company needed an environmental licensing process to begin extracting minerals in a region that had environmental protection areas and required special care to avoid affecting local biodiversity.

Solution: We conducted a full environmental impact assessment, including the preparation of technical reports to ensure that the mining process was carried out within environmental regulations. The environmental engineering team used mapping and monitoring technologies, such as seismic and geophysics, to assess the conditions of the subsoil and the area of influence.

Result: The licensing was approved after adjustments to extraction techniques and environmental compensation, allowing the continuation of mineral activity in a sustainable manner and with low impact on the environment.

CASO 03

Levantamento Topográfico e Projetos de Engenharia para Construção de Barragens

Challenge: A large engineering firm was contracted to build a water retention dam in a region with a high risk of ground instability. The project required a detailed topographic survey and a rigorous analysis of the geological conditions of the area.

Solution: We conducted a detailed topographic survey using geophysics and precision surveying technologies to study the ground conditions. In parallel, our civil engineering and geology team assessed the geotechnical stability of the terrain to ensure the dam would be safe and efficient.

Result: The dam was successfully designed and constructed, taking into account all geotechnical and environmental variables. The project was completed in complete safety, complying with occupational safety requirements and ensuring the protection of the community.
